Back in the early 1980s, we lived in Adarsh Nagar—just a stone’s throw away from Birla Mandir in Hyderabad. One fine day, I wandered up to the terrace, and what did I see? A perfectly aligned view of the Birla Planetarium and Birla Temple—a sight so rare, it felt like witnessing a celestial phenomenon, the kind that lights up an astronomer’s heart after a billion years.
The lighting was just right, and I instinctively knew when to shoot and which lens to use. I trusted my gut—and my favorite gear: the legendary Nikon FM2 paired with a 100-300mm zoom lens.
That moment turned into one of my most cherished photographs—and to my delight, it was later featured in several AP Tourism campaigns, thanks to Akshara Advertising.
Just goes to show… sometimes, magic is waiting for you right on your terrace.
