Freedom

Concept created by Art Director Satish Kochrekar. Shot for my portfolio in AIPA directory way back in mid 1990s. We got the dress specially designed by a Fashion designer, with the FREEDOM concept, showing sunrise coming out of a flower. Also purchased the jewelry for the same. Got the chains from old city area.

The pose of the model depicts 2 things. One that she is free of shackles & 2 she is releasing the dove (symbol of freedom). Must admire the model Anjali for her consistency in giving the same pose throughout the shoot & also her stamina for holding that pose for long times.

2 cameras were used for the shoot, one for checking polaroids & another for the actual shoot.

Camera: Linhof (6x9) 120 Film

Lights: 5 (red with gel from left for background, blue with gel from behind the pillar, one spot light from left of the model to separate her from the background & also to give her beautiful highlights, another dim soft box for right just to light her up & last light a harsh one for the chains. The dove was projected from a 35mm projector.

Time taken: Full night

Location: GG Studios International

Year: 1993
