Yesterday, while waiting quietly for the monks to arrive, I found myself drawn to a simple yet striking subject—rock formations standing still under a vast blue sky.

At first glance, it seemed like just another landscape. But as a photographer, curiosity took over.

I moved a few feet.

Click.

Then again.

Click.

And again.

Click.

What unfolded was magical.

The same rocks… but not the same images.

In one frame, the branches danced across the foreground like abstract art.
In another, the rocks stood tall and dominant, almost like silent guardians.
In yet another, the composition became layered—foreground, midground, background—telling a richer story.

Nothing changed… yet everything changed.

Not the subject.
Not the light.
Not even the time.

Only my position changed.

And that changed the entire perspective.

📸 The Lesson

Photography is not just about what you shoot.
It’s about how you see.

A few steps left or right can:

  • Add depth

  • Remove distractions

  • Introduce framing elements

  • Change mood completely

The world doesn’t need more subjects.
It needs more perspectives.

Next time you find a subject:

  • Don’t settle for one shot

  • Move around it

  • Shoot from low angle, high angle

  • Include foreground elements

  • Try different focal lengths

  • Wait for light shifts
