With Each passing day, week, month, year, decade technology is evolving at a very rapid pace now. And any new invention or discovery gives a big push to a particular field like never before. For example digital photography & introduction of cameras in mobile phones, which has changed the face of photography in just a couple of decades. This in turn creates trends in photography, both locally & globally.
So this year I feel these are the latest trends, which are ruling in all spheres of photographic works.
Computational Photography (digital image capture and processing techniques that use digital computation instead of optical processes): With the increasing power of AI and machine learning, computational photography is likely to become even more popular in 2023. This involves using algorithms and software to enhance or manipulate images in ways that were previously not possible. The possibilities & creativity are limited by our minds.
Augmented Reality(an enhanced, interactive version of a real-world environment achieved through digital visual elements, sounds, and other sensory stimuli via holographic technology): The use of augmented reality in photography is also likely to increase in 2023. This involves overlaying digital elements onto real-world images, creating a hybrid between the physical and digital world.
Environmental Portraiture: Environmental portraiture is a style of photography that captures subjects in their natural surroundings. With the growing focus on sustainability and environmental issues, this type of photography is likely to become more popular in 2023
Drone Photography: As drone technology continues to improve, drone photography is also likely to become more widespread in 2023. Drones allow photographers to capture images from unique perspectives and angles that were previously not possible.
Film Photography: While digital photography has largely taken over the industry, film photography is making a comeback. In 2023, more photographers may turn to film to capture a certain aesthetic or style that digital cannot replicate.
Overall, the field of photography is constantly evolving, and it will be interesting to see how these trends develop in the coming years.
